Some images from the parade held in Doncaster 27th June 2009.
Today I took myself and my camera by train to South Yorkshire. The event was well publicised and well attended. This was the first "Armed Forces" day and its amalgamation with Veterans' Day ensured that all age groups were included.

Thank you for sharing your impressive photos, it is good to see a lot of the younger generation out to view the parades. It is a trend here too with our youth being actively involved in our RSA (Returned Forces Association) activities.

Hi MSS, I am glad you went. I think it is a wonderful thing. They showed on Look North that Scarborough was having a big "do" for the forces.

Yes, I had seen the Scarborough event advertised on the internet, and really would have liked to go there, but Doncaster was a bit nearer

Oh, my goodness. That's right. Armed Forces Day. My mother passed away in 2006 and, since then, I have no-one to remind me about such things. I could have tuned into the BBC. Thank you, Marika, for these lovely photos and for reminding us about the sacrifice these young men do to keep us free.
